Carolina and Tamer
My favorites from an intimate ceremony at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego. It was a beautiful day and a warm night, making the whole wedding a wonderful event. I started in the bridal room with Carolina and her bridesmaids. There is often a moment when the whole room collectively notices that I'm the only male present. Here's how this one went: There is a long moment of silence between any conversation. While the makeup artist is working on her eyes, Carolina glances at me across the room. The other bridesmaids' eyes follow. She asks, "Michael, what sign are you?" I am a Pisces, I tell her. "See? I knew there was a reason I liked you!" They all laugh.
Scoping out the competition.
I like seeing the groom during the processional. Sometimes the situation doesn't allow for a shot such as this one, but I love it when the groom's face lines up like this. Grooms are an unpredictable group - no two show the same expression while watching the bride come down the aisle. I loved Tamer's eyes, full of life and love for Carolina.
It was dusk when we went aside for a few portraits. Low light is a challenge, but as the amount of light diminishes, the quality of that remaining light can only be described as gorgeous.
Carolina and Tamer didn't join their guests for cocktail hour, spending time together instead under the same gazebo where they were just married.
Carolina is a dancer, and during the reception she chose to feature a belly dancer show for her guests. Between the lighting design and the dancer's trailing sash, I was in photographer heaven.
